From Kerry McCoy:
Cornell
Well its finally here. One of the most anticipated matches of the season. I am very excited and looking forward to watching our guys perform in this atmosphere. A few updates about the match. Apparently the TV coverage fell through, so if you are interested in watching the match, you will have to see it online through Cornell's website. http://www.cornellbigred.com/showcase/#liveevents

They will also be live text scoring available, which should provide up the the minute stats of the match . http://www.cornellbigred.com/news/2009/ ... 92240.aspx

Also the match will be held in the Friedman Center, not Bartels Hall. The match will begin at 6.30p. There are Basketball and Ice Hockey games around the same time which means there will be heavy traffic around the area. If you are planning on attending, please plan accordingly.

Here are the possible match ups**
**Rankings from Intermat, WIN Magazine, Wrestling Report, Amateur Wrestling News and D1collegewrestling.net have have different rankings for most of the wrestlers.

After the dual, the guys here will compete in the Body Bar Invite. The rest of the team will compete in the East Stroudsburg Open. Steve Bell and Alex Krom will fly to California to compete in the NWCA All Star match. The match will be broadcast online by Live Sports Video. Here is the link to watch:

Recruit update
I am very happy to announce the first part of our recruiting class for 2010. Although we have received a few verbal commitments, I can only comment on guys that have signed National Letters of Intent to come to Maryland. The signees are Frank Goodwin of Arundel high school in Maryland, Mark Hartenstine of Easton high school in Pennsylvania, and Spencer Myers of Selinsgrove high school in Pennsylvania. Frank is planning on wrestling 133, Mark will go 141 and Spence will be a heavyweight. These guys are some of the nations best and will be very important to keep our status as one on the nations best programs. For more info on these guys click below:

A lot of fun to watch when it was on. Cornell is a great school but apparently lacks an audio video course.

I have to agree....this is epic. An absolutley HUGE win for the Terps.

I hate to be negative, and I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but there was not one single word about this in the Balt. Sun today. Though there WAS mention (a paragraph) on JHU's exciting win in..............................wait for it......................................WATER POLO!! You know, water polo, that wildly popular local sport played daily this time of year at schools and community pools all across the Freestate of maryland. :?

Well done MD! This is huge for them. I know rankings don't win national championships, but that confidence boost can produce much more. Lot of guys stepping up for big wins.

Here is the Flowrestling coverage of the match. http://www.flowrestling.org/videos/coverage/view/235970-maryland-at-cornell. Mack looked sharp, more aggressive than usual, and BIG for moving up a weight. I can't tell if Letts looked out of shape or just got broken so badly he was looking for the nearest hole to climb into. I am excited for Letts coming off his RS year, and what he'll do through the year. Rough start.

Both Letts and Lewnes are in the Semis at the Body Bar Invitational.
